Friday, September 4th - Literature Project with Miss Sammy

Friday, September 4th.

“Henri’s Scissors”
by Jeanette Winter
Hi, kids! How are you? Today we are going to learn about a very famous artist called
Henri Matisse. When he began working in his art, he liked to paint but then, when he was
older he began to use his scissors! He cut big pieces of paper and he made amazing
collages!
Let’s learn about him:

Wow! I love his collages, don’t you? I felt so inspired by Henri’s art that I created one,
too!
Let’s see what can we observe here:

There is a light blue lake.
There is a yellow car in the street.
There is a brown bridge over the river.

There are lots of mountains at the back.
There are three colourful buildings.
There are some people next to the lake.

Now it is time for you to describe the following collage made with the computer! Yes!
Digital Art is becoming very famous nowadays, too!
Write what you can observe in it by using “There is” and “There are”.

Please send your texts to your teachers.
I love you to infinity and beyond! Big kiss! Miss Sammy
